Com a fusão de diversos elementos em seu sistema, o gênero "TPS" (third person shooter – game de tiro em perspectiva de primeira pessoa) está se propagando rapidamente no mundo dos jogos. A Codemasters, famosa produtora de games, embarca nesse embalo e chega com o título Damnation, um jogo que possui foco nos combates, acrobacias e uso de veículos.
Hamilton Rourke é o personagem principal do game, um herói que lidera um grupo de aventureiros em um universo pós-industrial. Você, encarnando o protagonista, deve pegar sua equipe e combater um terrível traficante de armas, numa histrória repleta de elementos já conhecidos pelo público, principalmente pelo povo estadunidense.
A alternância na visão do jogo é um dos pontos fortes de Damnation. As perspectivas de primeira — na realidade, uma perspectiva externa, mas muito aproximada do personagem — e terceira pessoa, somadas à jogabilidade e aos combates intensos contra os espertos inimigos, colaboram para que o game assuma uma postura única.
