Twenty years have passed since the Prime Evils were defeated and
banished from the world of Sanctuary. Now, you must return to where it
all began – the town of Tristram – and investigate rumors of a fallen
star, for this is the first sign of evil’s rebirth, and an omen that

Descrição: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm é o terceiro pacote de expansão do renomado MMORPG da Blizzard. Ele traz uma enorme quantidade de modificações ao game, mais do que em qualquer outra alteração singular feita pela companhia. O conceito básico é de que Deathwing, o Dragon Aspect que sucumbiu à loucura, retornou — trazendo, literalmente, um cataclisma consigo.

O título adiciona duas novas raças de personagens ao game, Goblins e Worgens — para a Horda e para a Aliança, respectivamente. Ambos são antigos aliados de suas respectivas facções, o que ocorreu durante os eventos de Warcraft II, já que os Worgens são os humanos do reino de Gilneas, que recentemente saiu de sua reclusão.

Em consonância com a temática que permeia toda a expansão, o mundo de Azeroth será completamente remodelado. Todas as zonas dos velhos continentes — Eastern Kingdoms e Kalimdor — serão reformuladas e nada mais será o mesmo. Os sistemas de jogo também sofreram um pente fino para serem adequados à nvoa jogabilidade, o que resulta em uma experiência completamente nova, mesmo para os que já jogavam World of Warcraft antes do lançamento da Burning Crusade.
